ABOUT US
Community relations
Recyclage Carbonne Varennes will make every effort to build strong ties with the local business community, the community of Varennes, as well as the surrounding areas. We believe that working with other companies in the area not only creates strategic partnerships, but also ensures active participation in the community’s economic development.
People and the environment are at the heart of our priorities
Recyclage Carbonne Varennes aims to minimize the impact of its site while maximizing the positive impacts for the region. The company has obtained all necessary authorizations to begin construction and is committed to complying with all standards in force. Choosing to build on a former industrial site also minimizes the impact on the local area and population.
For example, on June 7, as part of World Environment Week 2024, RCV took part in cleaning up the riverbanks near the site. The event brought together approximately 40 participants, and in just a few hours, some 1,000 kilograms of waste were collected. This activity was added to the Mission 1000 tonnes results.

What mitigation measures are planned?
Recyclage Carbonne Varennes has implemented mitigation measures to reduce the impact of road transport generated by its activities. Truck drivers will be informed and made aware that citizens live close to the site. They will use only the section of Route 132 where trucks are permitted. A number of mitigation measures are under discussion with the Joint Municipal Industry Committee and the Association industrielle de Varennes.
